December 16, 2016, Sochi, Russia, HoloGroup became the laureate at the independent annual `Time for Innovations Award` in the `Breakthrough of the year` nomination.
Earlier that day Alex Yakubov, HoloGroup Founder and CEO, had presented to the Award jury and participants from the Russian leading companies mixed reality technology opportunities and its application in various business cases.
Experts gave special attention and very positive reviews on HoloStudy educational project. The project is a series of holographic lessons on physics, chemistry, biology and geology developed for the Microsoft HoloLens. Several students can simultaneously manipulate holograms with the help of special gestures and voice commands. Such interaction transforms group lessons into exciting team work.
Award jury also highly evaluated new HoloGroup application for architecture design of retail centers. Mixed reality technology allows to replace plastic architecture models of buildings with a 3D holograms. That makes the whole process of building design much more comfortable, providing a great functionality for modeling and group work and saving a lot of time and raw materials. For instance, with a help of special voice command it is possible to make transparent roofs, walls, and any object of the model so that the same maquette can be used for general building planning and for more precise room planning. Another great function allows to walk through the real-size holographic building to work on room interior.
